Mako or Great White? At 37 seconds the shark makes its 3rd hit on the sea lion. The last 3 minutes are mostly just the shark circling its victim. Apparently, this is pretty common at Catalina, there are at least three other YouTube videos similar to this one.

July 23, 2011 a recon to confirm the SST charts. We confirmed the current break and observed a line of kelp paddies. The paddies were 4 miles from Catalina Island and still held some of the local Blue Perch with some small yellowtail mixed in. The water temp was 66.8 at 8:30am. Our secondary mission was to explore conditions for White Seabass on the back side of the Catalina Island. We confirmed there was still White Seabass willing to play.

Tornado Laguna Beach Waterspout Twister Touchdown Catalina Island Storm Orange County California

HoloWater.com | 818-232-3411 | This Cyclone touches down and is on the ground… uhhh… on the water for a long time as we capture it on film… This location is directly between Laguna Beach and Catalina Island. So cool to watch… as nature cleans the ocean water through a magnetic vortex… oxygenating it so that the ocean life can breathe. This is the same effect as waves roll up into a pipe before crashing onto the beach… all that vortex action and on the beach… most beaches are covered with sand made of crushed quartz crystals and crushed iron. That’s why you feel so great at the shore… nature’s way of cleaning and energizing the earth… and energizing you at the same time. Wow! In hope of Peace & Synergy & Holo Pono

Not UFO’s but Catalina Island out there !

Yes, thanks to input from all of you out there, the Unidentified Floating Objects (UFO’s) have been identified ! They are San Clemente Island and Santa Catalina Island. I zoomed in on the horizon on a clear night at Carlsbad beach. With a Canon PowerShot SX210 IS with 14X zoom. That did the trick. Next up: I have to pawn the Rolls-Royce and buy a Handycam with at least a 60X digital zoom (ha ha). Never have enough zoom. I want to be able to see Arthur Godfrey strumming the ukelele on the beach at Avalon, Santa Catalina! OOPS, wrong era! Well, how about watching a resident (hopefully male) of the International Space Station shaving in front of the window? Or would that violate the laws of physics? Hmmm, I have to think about this one some more…
