The Compton To Catalina Program is a partnership between the Greater Union Baptist Church and the African American Environmentalist Association (AAEA). Assistant Pastor Sam Darling went on a scoping mission to the island in May 2009 in order to more accurately represent the program to others. AAEA President Norris McDonald toured the island in 2005 for the first time.
