From the USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies on Catalina Island — USC Environmental Science students stationed at Catalina Island, get the opportunity through a new program with renowned scientist-turned-filmmaker Dr. Randy Olson, to participate in a video production class, with an emphasis on science communication. Here is one of the videos that the students made. They get approximately 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit these videos. None of the students involved in the project are filmmakers. Hope you enjoy!

The USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies is proud to offer the USC Catalina Semester, a 15-week intensive, challenging and exciting marine/environmental science program for undergraduate juniors and seniors. The USC Wrigley Marine Science Center on Santa Catalina Island, about 20 miles offshore of Los Angeles, provides a unique setting for hands-on courses and independent research. Students take advantage of glorious weather, immediate access to pristine intertidal and subtidal habitats, small class sizes, and close relationships with each other and their professors.
